Sally Acorn, SA Style

My thoughts on an Sonic Adventure-style Sally story:

One day, Rouge the Bat was assigned by the government to go undercover and investigate the ties between a rogue government laboratory and Eggman's newest plan for world domination. Apparently, this facility - known as Neutron Labs - has been exchanging information, money and tech to Eggman, allowing him to build stronger robots while they use his knowledge to enhance their research. And recently, intelligence has shown that both Neutron Labs and Eggman are even working on a secret project together - to create a super-robot with a new metal alloy that nothing on Earth can penetrate. The president wants to know if the rumors are true, so Rouge and Shadow set off to find out.

Unfortunately, before they arrived, GUN, with their own agenda, got to it first. They killed or captured nearly every one in sight. Only one person escaped them: Sally Acorn, a scientist who works at the facility, assistant to the lab's owner. She seems to know almost everything of the dealings that are going on. In fact, she is armed with a talking Neutron Interatom ConsOLE - an AI nicknamed "Nicole" - whom she claims holds all the secrets that GUN wants and Eggman needs. But she refuses to talk, knowing that everyone is after her and Eggman and GUN will try to kill her for what she has, unless Rouge can get her out alive.

So in light of this, Rouge promises to protect her and bring her directly to the president and to safety. In exchange, Sally must give up everything she knows about the new super robot. However, Shadow does not trust Sally completely, and thinks that there is something more to Sally's motivations. She is tough and intelligent, and able to defend herself, but perhaps too clever for comfort. Sally is also very secretive about some things and especially does not like talking to Shadow for reasons she will not explain.

But despite Shadow's suspicions, not even he could know that Sally and Nicole are hiding something even deeper and more troubling, for indeed, they have a terrible secret. It is the fact that the partnership between Neutron and Eggman involved more than just creating a super robot - that it involved unlocking a shocking truth about the Chaos Emeralds. A truth that, if Eggman learns to exploit, will guarantee him total victory, unlock the greatest secrets of the universe - and bring about the final destruction of Sonic the Hedgehog.



I know, it's a bit heavy, and I'll probably never write such a fanfic. Heck, I've barely ever played the post-Adventure games. But it's always fun to speculate.
